For the writer who cares about ‘story’

What I do

Developmental editing (Big-picture help)

For when your story is complete, but something about it still feels off. Maybe the pacing drags, or your character arcs don’t land the way you hoped.

Developmental editing looks at your story’s skeleton—its structure, rhythm, and emotional through-line. In this phase, I help you uncover what isn’t working, what is, and how to make sure we have more of the latter.

You’ll receive:

  • A detailed editorial letter that walks you through your story’s key strengths and areas for growth.
  • Chapter-by-chapter notes with focused feedback.
  • An optional 30-minute call to discuss edits and your revision plan.

Perfect if: you have a full draft and want to elevate it before moving to line edits.

Line editing (Sentence-level help)

For when you have a solid story structure but the writing itself needs a little sharpening.

Line editing focuses on language—clarity, rhythm, pacing, and tone. I go line by line to make your prose more fluid and intentional while keeping your voice intact.

You’ll receive:

  • In-manuscript edits and comments on phrasing, flow, and tone.
  • Notes on dialogue, transitions, and emotional beats.
  • A short summary of overall patterns and recommendations.

Perfect if: you’ve already revised your story a few times and want it to read like the book you meant to write.

Who Its For

You’ll feel right at home here if you’re:

• A fiction writer who cares deeply about your story.
• Working on your first or second book (though more seasoned writers are welcome too).
• Serious about growing your craft but want to keep your writing voice intact.
• Looking for an editor who listens and not just corrects.
• Writing stories set anywhere—from Abuja to Abu Dhabi, or an entirely new world.

But most importantly, you’ll fit right in here if you have a sense of humour—because around here, humour is soul food.

Who Its Not For

  • Writers looking for someone to rewrite their story from scratch.
  • Those who want quick, surface-level fixes only.
  • Anyone expecting me to change their voice to fit a trend or a formula.
  • Writers unwilling to revise, experiment, or engage in the editing process.
  • Those who think editing is about “fixing mistakes” rather than strengthening storytelling.
  • And, of course, anyone who doesn’t believe in deadlines or communication (we’d both lose our minds).

And if you don’t laugh at least once during the process… we might need to revise our partnership draft.

What to expect

  1. Fill out the form below to tell me about your project.
  2. I’ll review your answers and respond within three business days.
  3. If it feels like a good fit, we’ll schedule a free 20-minute call to talk about your story, process, and next steps.
  4. If we both decide to move forward, I’ll send a proposal and editing agreement before we begin.

My principle as an editor is simple: I fix up your story like a ghost.
You’ll know it’s better but unless you ask, you won’t quite know what changed.

I know most writers feel overwhelmed by heavy markups, so I keep the process gentle and intuitive. When I adjust sentence flow or structure, I do so without touching your voice and only flag sections that need clarification or deserve your attention.

Your story stays yours—just stronger.

  • I owe this principle to my mentor, Monique. Thank you, Monique!

Why work with me?

  • Because stories are best when they make you feel, and these stories shine through when they are carefully polished.
  • Editing, to me, isn’t about fixing your work but about helping it become the best version of itself.
  • Every story that lands in my inbox is treated like what it is: something that took courage to write, so you’ll leave our collaboration with a stronger manuscript and a deeper confidence in your own voice.
